What we aim to do

Project Sheyda is a friendly and informative service offering Asylum seekers help and guidance in obtaining the correct information regarding their asylum claims. Signposting them to the correct services including but not limited to support services such as the NHS as well as immigration advice advocates.

We also offer a service for refugees. We can give help and guidance in obtaining access to suitable support services like the NHS, social services and legal representatives. We aim to work alongside the council with the housing and schooling departments to support our clients with interpreters. This will benefit the community as our clients are less likely to face destitution with the correct advice and or signposting..

As well as this we offer a befriending service which allows our volunteers to work with our clients to show them the local area and to educate them about the community.

Free English conversation classes – We aim to start these classes, run by volunteers in the next few months. The classes will be suitable for all abilities and will run twice a week.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please send a copy of your cv to chris@projectsheyda.org
